To The Slow 03:17
Here's to the slow Those with hearts on ready People push and pull Until they break the levee When you know what's to come And you know where to go You can take another beatin' You can dig yourself a hole And you wait till the water's gone Time turns dust to coal And your coal turns into diamonds While you take care of your soul Allow yourself to breathe Take a stand, side with your heart Let the good days weigh heavy Let the sceptics be unheard And when you talk about love What do you really talk about There's the hunt, the wild hope The holding back, the letting go When you know what's to come And you know where to go You can take another beatin' You can dig yourself a hole And you wait till the water's gone Time turns dust to coal And your coal turns into diamonds While you take care of your soul When you know what's to come And you know where to go You can take another beatin' You can dig yourself a hole And you wait till the water's gone Time turns dust to coal And your coal turns into diamonds While you take care of your soul

Don't blame us We just don't wanna sleep yet Your eyes, they look Indefinitely sad I know, I know You just don't wanna go Oh, can we please Above just as below? What did you say your name was? My thoughts are burning, what about yours? Well, it's two hours to go Before they close these doors And there's no place else for us to be There's no one here, just you and me There's nothing left for us to fear Still you're anywhere but here Don't start asking for the truth Your lips, your skin, my super-glue Oh, please don't think of someone else Look, I found a magic lense You're anywhere but here Anywhere but here Anywhere but here Anywhere but here Where does your pain go? Where does your love go? Where does your hope go? Where do you turn to? What if all our places are the same? What if all our places are the same? What if all our places are the same? What if all our places are the same? There's nothing left for us to fear Come and see, this is real And there's no place else for us to be Still you're anywhere but here There's nothing left for us to fear Come and see, this is real And there's no place else for us to be Still you're anywhere but here

I lost her in the wilderness It's sad, but it's a fact Another girl, another girl is gone She had high expectations Oh, they were just never met I'm just a man, I'm just a man, I'm trapped I keep my lines empty Serve myself cold Everything's clear and I can sing from the bone I live in a woman's world It's mad, but it's true You've got a grip on me You've got a grip on me I lost you in the wilderness It's sad, but it's a fact Another girl, another girl is gone You kept me on a leash Looking for a way into my frown See that's the thing that I just can't allow I wanted power over you I wanted power over you I wanted power over you You wanted power over me You wanted power over me You wanted power over me Give up, give up, give up... Give me pleasure, give me love Give me rules made to forget Give me truth and beauty And I'll give you all I have What's the measure of a man? What's the least you can expect? What's your kingdom really worth When there's so much disconnect? I keep my lines empty Serve myself cold Everything's clear And I can sing from the bone I live in a woman's world It's mad, but it's true You've got a grip on me I guess you never knew

Will you pour me something lighter? I have poison in my cup I need this to roll easy Or not at all We load up on brief episodes And walk away just when our water's sold When lust and pride are still We move on And that's all I want Is that all you need? You say you wanna run with me But you don't really have that speed Well, I couldn't fuel you It's the other way 'round, it has always been I'd use you to push me and pull me Till you think of me as the man I am not Get lost, dry your eyes, love No wonder or truth is in your life The cost of love is way too high I move on and Become the storm, get high on raging While my barely open soul, it sighs Will I grow cold when I pour rain on All the other hungry souls? Well, that's all I want Is that all you need? You say you wanna run with me But you don't really have that speed I couldn't fuel you It's the other way 'round, it has always been I will just push you and pull you Till you see me as I am On my way to paradise I found fever in a lover's hands On my way to paradise I lost myself, I lost myself On my way to paradise I found healing in a stranger's land On my way to paradise I lost myself, I lost myself I lost myself I lost myself I lost myself I lost myself I lost myself I lost myself Yeah that's all I want Is that all you need? You say you wanna run with me But you don't really have that speed I could fuel you now Not the other way 'round, as it's always been I will just hold you and love you Till you see me as the man I am now

I'm not sleeping I watch you breath Hardly your lover Rather a bird in the wind Could be your tower Oh no, there's cracks in my skin Here today and gone tomorrow A piece of thin paper burning Then back to my part It is not the big role The hunter, the juggler, the fool The hardened sage telling old truth Pass it on, pass it on The good life you want us to live I have no stand in it Pass it on, pass it on Oh, all your borrowed thoughts We could be more than this This could be fire, a sip of war A quick word in anger, a lesson in fear The kind of life that makes you run That makes you spill your last cup of cool That makes you dance and act like a fool The kind of love that knows no rules Come, let us wreck these cities to dirt And sing our good songs only for the birds Okay, back to my part Never the big role The hunter, the juggler, the fool The hardened sage telling old truth Pass it on, pass it on The life you speak of as a gift I find no peace in it Pass it on, pass it on All I see is borrowed thoughts We could be more than this All I see is borrowed thoughts You could be more than this All I see is borrowed thoughts
6.
I am the addict, now that I know you Your powder runs deep in my veins My days rendered useless without you Okay you're fighting the fever, but I am struck down Hold on, hold on, my heart Don't lose your hope, it'll take you far And don't crack your head up for jumping For wanting, for burning, for longing for warmth You saw the fire, I saw the fog Like Napoleon running from war Hold on, hold on, my heart Don't lose your hope, it'll take you far Hold on, hold on, my heart Don't lose your hope, it'll take you far Eurydice's leaving But nothing feels wrong Orpheus got weary Then you came along Castalia's dreaming Forgetting the sun Apollo got moody Then you came along Hold on, hold on, my heart Don't lose your hope, it'll take you far Hold on, hold on, my heart Don't lose your hope, it'll take you far Hold on, hold on, my heart Don't lose your hope, it'll take you far Hold on, hold on I'm ready to jump

I've gone From master to slave From sinner to sage Through love I've climbed Mountains and walls Crossed rivers and swords For love And it struck back at me Kicked me off my feet Left me in the dirt But I still believe I've changed my face, my name My skin, my lines, my clothes I've sold my drums For trumpets and horns I've left my punks For the orchestra sound And bigger rounds Of applause And it struck back at me Kicked me off my feet Left me in the dirt But I still believe I've left my punks For the orchestra sound And bigger rounds Of applause I've changed From master to slave From sinner to sage Through love
8.
Give me your hand I'll help you up I have some water Here for you Tell me your hopes Show me your fears Here, have some paper For your truth It's all true, it's all true Don't believe them When they say There's no beauty in you It's all true, it's all true It's your life You must believe in What your heart tells you to do Give me your gun I'll shoot the thugs I'll keep the cops in charge For you Go, get our ride We play Bonnie and Clyde They'll never catch us We're in bloom It's all true, it's all true Don't believe them When they say There's no fire in you It's all true, it's all true It's your life You must believe in What your guts tell you to do It's all true, it's all true Don't believe them When they say There's no power in you It's all true, it's all true It's your life, you must believe in What your heart tells you to do It's your life, you must believe in What your heart tells you to do It's your life, you must believe in What your heart tells you to do

Hush, little darlin' Don't punish yourself I know, the world has gone mad But you're strong You spend your life in a shell Nothing can touch you No one can see What you hide Oh, what a life Oh, what a life Oh, what a life you could Have in the light Oh, what a life Oh, what a life Oh, what a life you could Have in the light Hush, little darlin' There are ways to surprise yourself Ways to atone And move on The riddles you chose They are not meant for you The cage is not Where you belong Oh, what a life Oh, what a life Oh, what a life you could Have in the light Oh, what a life Oh, what a life Oh, what a life you could Have in the light When you're feelin' lost Shipped from coast to coast Weary to the bone Set your sails home When you're all alone Left by everyone Held up by a storm Come and find home When the evening comes Listen to our songs Listen to the drums And you'll find home Hush, little darlin' Don't punish yourself I know, the world has gone mad But you're strong You spend your life in a shell Nothing can touch you No one can see What you hide Oh, what a life Oh, what a life Oh, what a life you could Have in the light Oh, what a life Oh, what a life Oh, what a life you could have

about

This album of 9 tracks came to life in the winter of 2014/15 in a big old house in the middle of nowhere. Going back to the beginning, the songs only got the treatment of the acoustic guitar and the piano. In the process, they grew a question, a theme, that seemed to connect them: What is it that we actually talk about when we talk about love?
