Revolution! Really, it's about time! During that year in that art project, we had a few visits from the "suits": Business people, politicians, people in yellow shoes, you know... At that time I had abandoned all effects, the looper, the overdrive pedals, and I played in the streets a lot, just with the acoustic guitar and a set of harmonicas. I read six Bob Dylan biographies and listened through all his work. Actually, for half a year, Dylan became the only musician I'd listen to. I wanted to find out where that harmonica style, his way to breathe came from. The harmonicas are making friends with dust and other unused gear now, the effects are back, the song stayed. A protest song, telling the establishment to get out of the way while we free ourselves from their hunger for domination and control. Alright, it might all be a little more complicated than that...
lyrics
I stand here in linen and cord
You’re all feathered up
Sheddin’ out all the memories
Of your ways to the top
As you beg for attention
And money and fame
I tell you I’ve been there
There’s nothing to gain
I tell you I’ve been there
And now I’m insane
And John and Lorraine claim
Elaine is to blame
And all I need
Is a change of heart
And all I need
Is a change of heart
My friends, I tell you
There’s really no lord left to fear
The heretic kings of the past
Were never our peers
I’ll write a concert in days
You’ll think it took me a year
Well, it’s never just a matter of time
In times of need, my dear
Depraved simulations
Of life and art
It’s a great deal of work
Like another new war
Now go, free the pawns
Send home the guards
Your call to repentance
Is my call to arms
And all you need
Is a change of heart
And all you need
Is a change of heart
To all the whirred and worried
Pause to make amends
For all the gold and glory
Has torn and crippled your hands
And all you need
Is a change of heart
And all you need
Is a little love
And all you need
Is a brand new car
And all you need
Is to leave it all
Leave it it all
Leave it it all
Leave it it all
